Jesus Calm The Storm

Saturday, April 04, 2015

God led me to this awesome scene in the bible during the time of Jesus. And it's about Jesus being on the boat and calming the storm, the story was written in 3 books and in 3 perspective. I shared using the gospel of Luke (Luke 8:22-25) but I cross reference to 2 other books (Mark 4:35-41, Matthew 8:23-27.)

22 One day Jesus said to his disciples, “Let us go over to the other side of the lake.” So they got into a boat and set out. 23 As they sailed, he fell asleep. A squall came down on the lake, so that the boat was being swamped, and they were in great danger.24 The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Master, Master, we’re going to drown!”He got up and rebuked the wind and the raging waters; the storm subsided, and all was calm. 25 “Where is your faith?” he asked his disciples. In fear and amazement they asked one another, “Who is this? He commands even the winds and the water, and they obey him.”I point out some observation that I found when reading the verses. And that's what I'm going to share here.

First, It is His idea. What idea?! It's His idea to cross the river, to go on the other side. It's not the disciple's idea but Jesus'.

2nd, disciples obey. True follower of Christ obey. Even if you don't know why or if it makes no sense. If you're a christian, it means you follow as Christian literally means Follower of Christ.

Third, Jesus is sleeping. And the storm didn't wake Him up. Yet the disciples noticed the storm alone.

In conclusion. I told them the things that I noticed in the story. Indeed God has an idea for us. And if it is His idea, for sure He will move along and do His part. He will never let anything  go against His plan. :)

The day went on and I received feedbacks from people. It felt nice when you know God did great when He's using you. :)
