August slipped away into a moment in time

OT Galore!

This month, I started doing overtime. Almost all of my colleagues are doing it, so for the first time in 2 years. Here I am, an addict. Doing it before the shift and on 1 of my rest days.

Couples Victory Group

For the first time in maybe 2 years as well, God granted our prayer to have a couple's Victory Group. We were introduced to Peter and Mariz as our leaders. 

Jassie Volunteer

I'm a lil proud husband, my wife is doing her volunteer work in Victory as a musician. For now, she's been volunteering in the Kids Church. 

Mom

Before the month ends, my mom got hospitalized. We thought that it was just a small bump in her health but it ended up a lot worse. My mom has had diabetes for a while now, and the doctor said that it was not maintained and monitored properly, now, she has chronic kidney disease and is at stage 4 which is a stage before going to dialysis or a transplant. 

We are asking for prayers for God's miracle to work in her life. She's been taking a lot of medicine and requires a lot of monitoring. The doctor said that it won't get her to full health but it will just slow the progression.

Initial Thoughts

The anime has a futuristic and probably a dark theme. We opened in a rainy city. We have robots and advanced technologies. The hi-tech guns used here are really cool, to be honest. We follow a set of police officers trying to hunt down criminals with a high crime coefficient rate. 

THE GUNS ARE SO COOL. and it produces gruesome results. 

The overall experience with this anime? Well, I can say that I'm invested and I'm almost at the edge of my seat.

Full review

This show tackles society. About the human condition, about what makes a person, bad. What contributes to that "badness" and how is it determined. Do we really have data or any particular information that can prove this? 

In this futuristic world. Humans have invented a system that does this. It's viewed as a perfect system to the point that inspectors and officers have solely relied on this tool in hunting down criminals. 

This show is really enjoyable for me. I love the characters, the theme and the ambiance of the anime is really good. They have done a really good job portraying a somewhat realistic future. 

I love the battle between judgment and the system.

The Finale

The finale is a build-up of the whole season. It has all the twists and turns and the reveal. I love how it all ends up. How the show developed into this and what they do in the end. Somehow a cliffhanger but really satisfying.

My takeaway

Guts, what are our guts tell us?

Systems. Can we really trust those with experience? The whole system? Should we question any narrative? The politics? Should we be silenced? Should we follow blindly? Should we fully submit to those above us?

Pilot Episode Thoughts

Wars! Wars! Wars! The show is set after a war, a nation overtaking Japan and changing everything including culture and lifestyle. Form What I see, this is about government issues and conspiracies. Fighting against the bigger enemy and having this mind, this weapons to overtake.

Interestingly, this anime is not afraid to kill characters, well, it's the first episode and we do not have any emotional attachment yet but, yeah, You can see early on what to expect moving forward.

Full review

This show is good. I like the elements from the show, how they parallel chess games in war, how the show maximizes the use of mind control, and how far politics can go. 

The show is massive political and war-driven. It magnifies deeper layers between two parties. It has hints of mystery, power, and curiosity. The plot is interesting, you have to give your full attention so you won't miss any details, especially the reveals as you go along the story.

It has all kinds of twists and turns. But, this is different, even though the twist happens every few episodes, you won't be able to guess what's going to happen next. It's crazy, massive twists that can throw away all the things that you think would make sense in the end. 

It took me a long time to finish this but this anime is goooooooooood!

The Finale

Up to the end, we opened with a plot twist. Yup, this show has plenty in its pockets. We are peaking at the current battle and it's insane that it doesn't feel like it's going to end anytime soon. But it is ending in our eyes, the battle showed us results from left and right.

Lives have been lost and we are headed to an unexpected end. Have I told you about the plot twist in this show? Yes, another one in the end. A surprising, controversial but satisfying ending. 

This is one of the well-written endings for me.

Manipulation, getting what you want, and trying to control everything may lead us to the destruction of ourselves.
