Lab Result Got Better

After a month of discipline, diet adjustments, and taking my medicine seriously, my lab results improved.

Not perfect. But better. I was devastated at first because at first the result got worse after all the things that I did. To my surprise, I gave the doctor incorrect data.

We adjusted almost everything this past month. The food I eat. The portions. The timing. Even the medications. It hasn’t been easy. This is still a long road, but at least now I know it’s working.

Hoping for better results next time.

LeadCon

We had the chance to attend LeadCon again.

This time, we left Kean at home so we could fully immerse ourselves. No distractions. Just listening, taking notes, reflecting.

The focus was on evangelism and discipleship. It was a good reminder to live our lives in reaching out to the lost intentionally. To multiply.

Sometimes you don’t realize how much you need that until you’re there.

Ocean Park – Valentine’s Day

On Valentine’s Day, we chose family time.

We went to Ocean Park. Just us, walking around, watching marine life, letting Kean explore. Me too, I enjoy it since it has interesting fish I didn't know existed.

I’m happy that Kean's comfortable with crowds. My only struggle? Kean is so makulit.

Once he sets his eyes on something, that’s it. No one can stop him. He wants all the toys. play all the arcade games. And of course, only the machines with prize gifts.

It was tiring. But it was a good kind of tired.

Went to Joshua’s – Bulacan

First time dropping by in Bulacan with KIA Sonnet. We visited Joshua’s home, and it felt good to see almost everyone complete again. There’s something different when friendships continue even outside the church. (Well, we attend different churches now)

They’re a fun company to be with. Easy laughter.

It was also nice meeting Joshua’s wife and kid. We’re all in different seasons now, but somehow still connected. I’m grateful I get to be part of that circle.

Kean’s First Haircut

After two years, Kean finally had his first haircut.

Two years of curls. Two years of “sayang.” Two years of delaying it. It's kinda sad, I miss his long hair but it's fun because her granda cried. Hahhaa!

January

January wasn’t easy. It came in heavy. We lost our beloved Shiro.

1.7.2025.

It still feels unreal, no more fur floating around, no one's welcoming us anymore whenever we arrive. The house feels different now, quieter, emptier.

Sunflower

Our company kick-off party at Shangri-La Hotel happened during this time. I met new faces, saw old workmates again, shared laughter, amazing food, and conversations. Seeing our boss, so warm, kind. This reminded me how blessed I am to be part of this company.

Isabela

Because of a sudden adjustment in my schedule, we were able to push through with a family trip to Isabela, with both my family and my in-laws. More than a 10-hour drive, the longest one yet for the Kia Sonet. Zigzag roads that tested our patience and driving skills at night. We were on the road all night, Papa and I taking turns driving, fighting off sleep by eating a lot of nuts.

Find Kean

While there, we attended a couple’s birthday party—simple, warm, and full of familiar faces. Nothing grand, but enough to make the long drive feel worth it.

Double Jollibee Party Day

The day started early.

Hannah’s Birthday Party

9:30 AM at Jollibee Madrigal. I was happy to see my churchmates and the VG group there. It felt familiar. I joined the games (because I was forced), laughed a lot, and somehow ended up winning a Starbucks GC. Let's freaking go!

Then came the second round.

Rayna’s Birthday Party

1:30 PM, same place. Tine is coming back with her family and her baby. I joined the games again and I was forced again… and lost this time. We danced budots in a shameful way possible. We were there with Cath too, just enjoying the chaos, the noise, the kids.

Got a new lovely lens.

I thought my camera broke. Well, it kind of did. The flash isn’t working properly anymore, and that honestly made me sad.

So I started looking for a new camera. I was already getting drawn in, convincing myself, until reality kicked in and I realized I couldn’t afford it.

Instead, I bought a new Sigma lens and a detachable flash.

Nice.

...

In the middle of all of this. My lab results came back.

They were a problem;
I need to take action now
. No excuses. No delays. I was talking to my doctor and it's sad. He told me to take the steps to change my lifestyle because my life will not be long if I continue my habits.

So I have to change.

My lifestyle.
My food choices.

I'm taking tons of medications and there are tons of side effects. I can’t keep eating like nothing’s wrong. I can’t keep using food as comfort while ignoring the consequences. I can't forget what the doctor told me: use food as a tool, not a reward.

December

It's a jam-packed December!

I’ve been wanting to go to Mon’s for a while now. We weren’t married yet when I first learned about the place. Now, we celebrated our 4th year anniversary here. The drive was way too long, but it was worth it. Jassie and I had some insightful conversations. It felt different, a kind of bonding we only get when we’re alone together.

BTW, we left Kean with his grandparents.

Happy Anniversary, Jas.

I love you. I know I still lack many things. I still have bad habits, and there are times I fall short of my duties and of giving what you need. But I’m trying to be better. Thank you for sticking with me and staying by my side. I’m so blessed to be your husband. I will forever be grateful to the Lord for giving me someone like you. It still amazes me whenever I think about it.

We love you so much, Kean. Our lives changed when you came into our world. Taking care of you is worth all the tiredness. Your smile is priceless. I wouldn’t mind taking all the overtime just to see you smile. Happy birthday, our love.
