May the Fourth be with you

Probably, the highlight of this month is my leaves. (Aside from an overnight with Jassiee here in our home). Almost the full month, I only work for 3 days per week. Which is very nice and it has this huge warning that I might get used to it.

I also set up my workstation outside my bed for a lil different experience, while It's pretty hot out here, I really enjoy the vibes at some time.

Good Reads

I've been reading this for quite a while and it has those interesting takes on Christianity. I really like the author's explanation but sometimes it's too deep for me.

Your Lie in April

April 30, 2021

There's not much that happened this month. Because, lockdown restarts, plans, and all those stuff were either canceled or postponed.

I only went to Jassie's home last week to work on our wedding stuff, like food tasting and doing some boxes.

And I took a step back on some of the things that I've been working on. Like, I slowed down my book reading to absorb the knowledge that being imparted to me by those authors and even in watching anime movies, apparently, I've already watched most of the anime movies on the top 30 list.

Good Reads

I'm currently reading 2 books, Mere Christianity and How's Your Soul. I might finish this next month, so the review and my thoughts on this will be posted at the end of May.

Watch Tayo

I handpicked them base on the recommendations and the comments of other people. I only watched a few but they're really good ones.

Movie
Princess Mononoke
Wolf Children
Summer Wars
Spirited Away
Voices of a Distant Star
Colorful
Demon Slayer: Mugen Train

For the series, I started watching animes with few episodes only. I really enjoyed Your Lie in April and Anohana, they all made me cry. While Erased and Terror in Resonance gave me the idea of what content I enjoy in anime.

Series
Your Lie In April
Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day
Erased
Terror in Resonance
Given
Tokyo Magnitude 8.0

Other stuff

Well, my boys on the Celtics are on a run. Hopefully, they will continue this even in the playoffs.

That's all for now. Ciao.

March Madness

Just like that, we're one year into the pandemic and just like that. This month is about to end. So here's my summary slash review of this month.

So here's a little update about our wedding:

Things are tough recently and it's hard to move around but we're getting there. Pray with us!

Good Reads

I finished 2 books this month.

This is the last book about marriage on our shelf and this is a really good book for married and about to be married. The couple shares their story on how God intervenes in their marriage, all the struggles and the pain that went through. A really nice story. I also love how they relate the word of God in marriage.

Judah Smith does it again. Life Is ___ uncovers God's love in several fascinating stories in the bible - and in Judah's funny encounter in life. This is a really good book if you want to laugh and cry in every chapter.

Watch Tayo

Here are the anime movies that I watched. This is base on recommendations on Yeng Constantino's page. Hahaha. I literally don't watch anime movies before so I don't have any ideas about which ones are good or which directors are the best. But this list below is the ones that I watched and there's no trash in here. Some have a really good story, some have some crazy and fascinating animation. Every movie is good in its own way. I highly recommend this!

Your Name
The Girl Who Leap Through Time
Garden of Words
Ride Your Wave
When Marnie Was There
Hotorobi No Mori
Hello World
Hal
A Whisker Away
I Want To Eat Your Pancreas
Howl's Moving Castle
The Anthem of the Heart
Penguin Highway
Her Blue Sky
A Silent Voice
Weathering With You
5 Centimeters Per Second
Garden of Words
Children Who Chase Lost Voices
My Neighbor Totoro

Anime Series

I finished 5 Animes:

Jujutsu Kaisen
A Place Further Than the Universe
Attack On Titan
The Promised Neverland
Violet Evergarden

Other Stuff

The Celtics traded for Evan Fournier for 2 second-round picks! Great pick-up. However, we're saying goodbyes to our boys, Daniel Theis, Javonte Green, and Jeff Teague.

That's all for now. Thank you!

JanxFeb

I rarely blog these days, I've been working on other stuff and Valorant. So I thought that I should do some Monthly summary of what's happening in my life. Somehow similar to what I'm doing every end of the year.

Since I missed January, I'll cover 2 months here.

Ever since I proposed to Jassiee, she's been very busy arranging and contacting suppliers for our wedding. That this point in time, I'm only here to exist and agree.

We've been to several wedding venues, it was fun but really costly. We also attended a marriage seminar, and read books about marriage and speaking of reading;

Good Reads

I've also read several books, this is one of my goals this year, to read as much. I've read few short books about life and marriage. To keep track of this, I'll list them below:

- Ok lang Magstruggle At Mabigo
- Life is Short
- Handa Ka Na Ba - For Better or For Worse?
- Marriage Rules The Hilarious Handbook for Surviving Marriage
How to Keep Your Hubby Happy (apparently this is also recommended to husbands and to be)

Currently reading 2 devotional type books

- 365 Daily Supplements for the Heart
- The Story of Marriage

And I'm about to start Life is ___.

Watch Tayo

Because of this Naruto fever in me, I have started to watch some anime. Aside from finishing Naruto, Naruto Shippuden, and Aho Girl last year; I'm done with the following:

- Demon Slayer

On-going Animes:

- Boruto: Naruto Next Generations
- Attack On Titan

Currently watching

- Inuyasha
- Jujutsu No Kaisen

I have several pending on my list and I'm excited to finish them all. I also tried reading Manga, this is because of my Naruto fever. Well, I'm up-to-date with Boruto.

Non-anime series? WandaVision, it's so good!

Other Stuff

I've been consistent in posting on my Instagram page, myartdump.psd, and on hiatus on my versenchorus.

I don't have anything else, for now, I'll try to improve this moving forward, I'm just testing the waters.

Shelter

I started the book called "How's Your Soul" by Judah Smith. He's also the author of Jesus Is ____ and Life is ____.

I'm just in chapter one but it already amazed me. He explains how our soul always find their way back home. Home is where our heart is. Home is where we can be real with ourselves and stop pretending. Home is basically who we are.

If we're able to find the home of our soul. We'll be at peace and at grace. So, may I ask you, where do you live? How's your soul? Who is your shelter?

We often seek for purpose and for something bigger than ourselves believing that it will fulfill our longings but truth is, all we need is Jesus. It may be odd but Jesus is the answer.

Got questions? Let him know! He'll surely listen.

God's Not Dead

"To say there is no evidence for this creator is like saying thousand of paintings in an art museum couldn't have been painted because there are no artist visible in the gallery." - Rice Broocks

I just finished the book God's Not Dead: Evidence for God in an age of uncertainty by Rice Broocks. He is an author, apologetic and the co-founder of Every Nation family of Churches (in the Philippines, they are called Victory Christian Fellowship). As I read this book, it makes me say Oo nga no? and agree with the skeptics regarding the existence of God, but Broocks gracefully gave an explanation to every question and arguments from the skeptics. I bet that they have no comebacks for that. Broocks explains the existence of God not only based on the bible but on evidence. He even use the language of the atheist regarding in science and philosophy. I admire Rice Broocks' research in this matter. He quoted tons of known people in Christianity and skepticism. and He really knows where to stand.

In the end of the book are sets of testimony that proves the existence of a Creator. One of my favorite chapter is called The Grace Effect. It magnifies how God's grace affect the world today. The Christians and Non-Christians alike for He let the sun goes of for the good and bad. It's a must read book for doubtful and even for Christians who needed further explanation about His existence, I tell you, you will never have a choice but to believe in Him.

"Once the truth is firmly grasped, it becomes a logical necessity to seek out the nature and character of this Creator"

Forgiveness

What do you know about forgiveness? Are you a great apologizer to someone. how often you say sorry and act like you really mean it? I'm reading this book by Gary Chapman, the author of 5 Love Language Series and Jennifer Thomas. It is called 5 Language of Apology. I haven't finished the book yet but I'm learning things. A lot of it.

when sorry isn't enough, what else can you do?
some flowers, chocolates, repentance, doing something good? The book focuses on couples so, I can't apply many things in my situation but there's the idea. we are all sinful creatures, we're not perfect. so we needed to apologize. not for the sake of saying sorry or just to end the conversation but to admit that you are wrong. that we were. Its an acknowledgement of our imperfection. And there's this great feeling when you forgive and know that you are forgiven. I'll be posting another blog about this when I finished the book.

To all I've offended. Sorry! I'll make things up to you. I wanna make things right.
Good day!

when was the last time you've read a book?

May barkong lumubog
May kaguluhan sa ibang bansa

Minsan pa nga it became our soul food.

Masarap kaseng magbasa. dadalhin ka nito sa isang lugar na di mo pa napupuntahan. Ipapakilala sa mga taong di mo pa namemeet at matututunan ang iba't ibang kaalaman nila sa mundong ito.

when was the last time you've read a book?!

God's Love Language

If you're aware about Love Languages. You probably to the test and you now know what's yours. you see, there are 5 Love Languages according to Gary Chapman in his book series (5 Love Language)

Words of Affirmation
Quality Time
Receiving Gifts
Acts Of Service
Physical Touch

I took the test a year ago and I end up with 2 languages. Words of Affirmation and Receiving Gifts. I am Bilingual! it means that my love tank is being filled when Words and Gifts is being spoken to me. No wonder why I collect those almost non-sense things in my room and save messages on my phone.

so I wonder, what does God's love language?

Is it Words of Affirmation or Quality Time or Receiving Gifts or Acts Of Service
or maybe Physical Touch. If you'll ask me (even if you don't, I will say it)

Words of Affirmation
Worship, Adoration, Praise, God longs for that.

The Lord says: "These people come near to me with their mouth and honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship of me is made up only of rules taught by men. Isaiah 29:13

Quality Time
take time to pray. to talk to Him in very circumstances.

One of those days Jesus went out to a mountainside to pray, and spent the night praying to God. Luke 6:12

Receiving Gifts
Offering sacrifices. Giving to others. Giving our tithes and offering.

Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 2 Corinthians 9:7

Acts Of Service
Obey God's Word. Help each other. What you do to others. You did to Him.

It is the LORD your God you must follow, and him you must revere. Keep his commands and obey him; serve him and hold fast to him. Deuteronomy 13:4

Physical Touch
How can God experience Physical Touch if we can't see Him. He's in Heaven. around 2000 years ago, God brought Jesus to earth as a Human. so, the love language of physical touch is being spoken to Jesus only 2000 years ago. right?!
well, I guess not. have you ever felt the goosebumps in worship or in preaching? I believe that it's God way of touching us. in that way, He can feel us. We can feel us. Physically.

Then laid they [their] hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost. Acts 8:17

according to John 4:8, God is love, So asking me "what is God's Love Language, so we can fill His love tank?" I believe everything, the 5 of them. think about it. :))

Life would be great.

as i told you before i was reading an e-book about dreams and conquering your Goliath. i was really inspired reading. i just finished it this morning. so 1 by 1 i pray that i will be a dream catcher. that no dream will be left hanged on my head. making a move and knowing it is a must in fulfilling those dreams.

Books...

my favorite book among them. its a survival kit for me. i bought this book for only 50 pesos in Booksale. the introduction hook me easily. then i laugh so hard. it was like this.

"i do believe in miracles, cause in 2008 i experience one. i graduated from high school"

now, i'm waiting for some books to come my way.
