INLAB KA?!
Tatawa nalang ako
(JABES’ MESSAGE PARA SA CRUSH MO, SYOTA MO, NILILIGAWAN MO, INLAB KA? YEAH RIGHT)

I’m posting this not because I am bitter, for not having any kind of relationship.
But I am posting this because I’ve heard a teaching from my favorite professor.
That message makes me think then I realize she was right.

Crush mo:
It is okay, na magkaron ng crushes, normal naman un e, lahat nararanasan yan.
Walang masama dito.

Nililigawan mo:
How old are you? Teenager? Duh? So do you think you’re in love, kasi magnda, pogi? Ganun ba?

Syota mo:
My professor is being rude here. Haha, tinatawanan ko ung mga magsyota sa klase e, okay, did you know kung kelan ka dapat makipag date, date? Kelan?

“When should I start going steady?
I’d say, “When you are ready to get married!”
“Oh, come on” many Christian youth would protest “why should you talk about marriage?” we are just interested in going steady…

What do you mean by “going steady?” what is a “steady”? A “steady” is someone you can call your “syota” (boyfriend/girlfriend) as the case may be. You have this person because it is quite fashionable have one. Besides there is the physical thrill of having him/her. After a while the two of you may drift apart as there is no intention of a serious relationship.

In this case, “going steady” simply means having a love affair which may or may not end in marriage. This is a common idea reflected by many western authors in their books on the subject.

To many Filipinos however, “going steady” is something more meaningful and abiding. It means a special exclusive relationship with someone of the opposite sex. It carries with it the seed of an engagement and marriage at some future time.

As Christians, we will reject the first meaning. To make another person a mere object, a plaything to toy around with, or someone with whom to pass the time, is way below the standard of 1 Corinthians 13:4-8. God does not want us to play with the feelings and emotion of others. But it is sad that a number of us profession Christians have reflected this worldly view not only in word but also in conduct.

Our Christian men sometimes fall into this kind of thinking. Out of social pressure and emotional impulse they say “I love you” but they are not quite ready to follow it up with “will you marry me?” Christian young people who are conscious of the lordship of Christ in their lives must learn to submit their emotions to Christ and wait for the right time to confess their love.

In lab ka? Yeah right.
Additional, if you think that you’re in love, we’ll think again...
You’re just thinking that you are in love… give me 1 to 2 years at this age, kung kayo pa din, kung kayo pa, then you prove me wrong.

Pero subaybayan nyo, kakainin ko lang lahat ng sinabi ko (nabasa nyo)

“if you think she/he loves you, of course she/he loves you, as a friend, as a classmate or AS A ka lang talaga.”
