Anime Review: Beastars

Beastars anime is an adaptation of the Manga of the same name. It resembles the 2016 Disney movie, Zootopia. This anime tackles a lot about society, it is interesting since they are using animals as representation. 

In a world where there's a gap between Carnivores and Herbivores, the interaction between the two sides becomes interesting. The herbivores are viewed as weak, and the carnivores are strong. The reliability of the situation is noticeable as you watch the series. 

The world-building is top-notched. There are amazing main characters and supporting cast. Their backstories are well thought out. 

We have the main character, Legosi. Awkward, shy, and a wolf. We explore perspective as we watch him struggle and deal with love, racial status, and standing up according to their strength.  

There are lessons to be perceived like sexual compatibility, trust among each other, and dealing with uncertainty. It showcases the bravery of one's rights and fighting for what one believes in.

Beastars is an anime of the ages. Please don't get fooled by their furry presentation. The anime is really good. You should definitely watch this,

Anime Review: Darling in a Franxx

This anime is being recommended so many times from IG and Tiktok, I learned about this around the same time that I learned about rent-a-girlfriend but I'm not interested due to the theme of having robots. 

But as I was browsing on what to watch next, I stumbled upon a short review of this anime and I started checking online if I should watch it. So, I did. 

I don't exactly know how to describe this but this anime is mostly about robots, aliens, and a complicated love story. It has a nice storyline compressed into a 24 episode anime. There were hints of clues throughout the first few episodes that give these suspicious elements on what's going on.

I enjoyed watching this but I don't put it high on the list. It's fun and emotional. A love triangle is a common theme and also, saving the world. There are also some sensual elements of this anime that are quite funny to watch for me. It will definitely be ignored by young audiences but yeah, it has those parts. 

This anime could be better, but I understand that this has been good and simple.

Anime Review: Aoi Bungaku

Eyy. Since I'm into anime now, I'll start a new series on my blog. Anime and Manga reviews. So, I started this month with Aoi Bungaku. Here's my review: 

Aoi Bungaku or Blue Literature series

Aoi Bungaku has been on my watch list for a while and for some reason, it did not catch my interest to watch it immediately until recently. It just does not appeal to me that much, it just happened to be the next anime on my list. 

This anime is not for the faint of heart, it is dark, depressing, and psychological in a way. The theme might not be for everyone but this is a great work of art and literacy. It speaks volumes about human psychological depth in a way that can be interpreted in a simple and unexplainable way. 

It is complex and insanely beautiful. It contains 6 different stories in a span of 12 Episodes.

While all of them are really nice stories, my personal favorites are No Longer Human and Kokoro. 

No Longer Human contains a mystery and agony of oneself toward what's happening outside and inside your life. The decisions that you've made and the complexity of adapting. To be honest, you can interpret this in any way that you wanted to or how you see things from your perspective. 

Kokoro explores the story underneath another story. How life might be beautiful and tragic at the same time. How humans react and manipulate a story. 

This is one hell of a ride for a 12 episode anime. Well written and truly.. tragic.

The Ides of March

March. 3rd month of the year, 3rd month of being married. What has changed? A lot and we are slowly getting into our own little space. We are slowly getting used to stuff. We are happy, definitely happy and we are thankful still. We are adjusting but we are satisfied. 

Anyway, here are the highlights for the month. I guess I'll start with the Animes that I've watched. I finished 3 animes this month. 

I watched 2 seasons of each. 

First? Kaguya-Sama: Love is war. This is a masterpiece. Imagine watching a romantic-comedy anime fueled with suspense and action type of animation. They brought the simple school scene to an epic battle of wits and glory. I started watching this with some doubts in my mind. How can this type of anime be this good, how can they have that kind of a rating and a cult? 

All I can say is: I become part of this cult. 

How crazy animes can be? What storyline and special powers can they tell? What background story can they showcase to the world that we can all relate to? 

No one compares to Saitama as the One-Punch Man. This is not a spoiler, because it's in the title. The man is so strong, he can defeat anyone with, you guessed it. A single punch. 

It's a crazy idea but it's much more interesting. As I watch the show, I thought I'm following this man's story, but no, we learned the story of the people around him and he just appears out of nowhere to punch a villain and save the day. 

What's even funnier? The side character's fight scenes are way crazier. The animation and battle sequence are crisp. 

 

Don't let this silly picture fool you. While you may assume that these students, Smiley Mascot with tentacles can tell you everything about this anime. I tell you no and this is not a kids' show.

Anime Title: Assassination Classroom.

This is a story of an Octopus-like creature who managed to destroy the moon and gave earth 1 year to kill him before destroying the planet, this is while he teaches these students lessons - and attempting to kill him. 

This anime got me thinking if it is worth the watch. This will hit you in the feels when you least expected it. The student's goal is to kill their teacher before he destroys the earth. 

This has been part of my favorite animes to date. An epic masterpiece. 

House Dedication/Dad's Birthday

Vianca and her mom also gave us a dog. His name is Shiro. A half Japanese Spitz and half something. He is mighty and adorable.

After several months, EDPS Studio gave us our Wedding Album, edited pictures and videos plus a framed picture from our wedding. 

After so many years, I finally got the courage to try this amazing masterpiece made by the legend: Spencer Shay from iCarly

This month is the birth of a new collection. Anime action figures. Egypt sold me this one for a discounted price and a freebie of a Captain Marvel Funko Pop. Introducing: Tanjiro!

My arms get cold, In February air.

After watching several animes last month, I decided to finish where I left off when I took a break from anime last year before my wedding. I stopped at around episode 10 of Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. 

I just finished it today and it's amazing. No wonder this anime is always on the top animes from several lists that I searched into. 

The plot is really good and probably really unique at the time of the premiere. The characters were well written, the twist and turns are subtle but it's really nice. Most of all? The pacing. The pacing is the best, I felt like I watched a 500 episode anime in just 64 freaking episodes. 

The story is about 2 brothers who lost part of their bodies due to a transmutation in hopes of reviving their mother. This is where the journey begins, it amazingly unfolds many mysteries in the alchemy world. 

Season 2 of this highly anticipated anime, Demon Slayer has ended and it went nuts. The animation is superb! I did not really expect it to be this good when I read this in the manga. Top notched! 

I, then, started reading where I left off. I finished reading the Entertainment District Arc last year so I continued and this time, finish it all the way. It's really a good manga with a really nice story. Hopefully, they will animate this soon. We will probably need 5 years in developing this all. Oh my.

I have nowhere to go after finishing the Demon Slayer manga, so I hoped in Black Clover. I really hope that this will be really nice. 

Lastly, Jassiee and I managed to settle with some of our shopping and online buys, we have some spare time watching some series. After we finished the How I Met Your Mother and F.R.I.E.N.D.S few years ago, we are now back on track with another sitcom, Brooklyn Nine-Nine. 

House update: We bought stuff every weekend for our home and it's fun doing the grocery together. 

Now that we've been settled here in our own home, I'm starting to get used to everything. While we are still adjusting to many things, I'm happy that we're living this simple and exciting life together. We've only been married for 3 months and it's nice to look ahead and hope for a really nice future. 

We then attended the "Let’s Stay Together" by Victory Alabang for a night of  Encouragement, Impartation, Building Up and Prayer.

Take me to January

Ola January. It's a new year with a new life. I'm still learning a lot of things with my wife and basically, life away from my parents. 

We spent the new year here in our home. My feet hurt so bad and our home is continuously being renovated. We are on the last parts, fixing some things and they're just painting the home. 

We also pick up my things from home and slowly moved in. We already sleep here and somehow it felt really nice. It's being renovated for 2 months. I really thought that it will only take a week. We are easily burning money and we still have lots of stuff to buy. 

But I'm happy, Jassiee's happy too. I can see it in her smile whenever she talks about the house. 

Anyway, I'm semi-back to the regular programming. I watched several animes, I caught up with these 2 ongoing and sought after animes. 

Attack On Titan - The Final Season Part 2

Demon Slayer Season 2: Entertainment District Arc

I'm so hyped about this. These 2 animes are one of my favorites from the past year, to the point that I read the manga as well. I enjoy both anime's current arcs. It's really good. I love the consistency of the animation in AOT and I love the details in Demon Slayer. The story is crisp. AOT's plot twist is even more impactful in the anime than the manga.

Tokyo Revengers

Another classic in the making. I started this last year and got really confused with the story. It feels like I'm missing something, which I did. I watched it the wrong way, by watching the summary of several episodes. I'm not sure why they did that part, but anyway.

Tokyo Revengers is about a time-traveler, just like the anime Erased. The concept is the protagonist can go back to the past, 12 years from the present, and can change the future outcomes by making some decisions. The goal is to save his ex-girlfriend. It's a really interesting story about gangs and the butterfly effect. Highly recommended.

Mieruko-Chan

This is the anime that I'm currently watching. Mieruko-chan is about a young girl who happens to see a ghost. The interesting thing is she chose to ignore them and it's working but that action plan does not lessen the chills. I'm only on episode 3 and I'm really expecting more, this is highly recommended by several Anime Tiktokers.

MOMENT OF A DAY IN A YEAR:

Morning is such a symbol of hope. A restart figure, it's a chance to make things right one more time. A time to think about things and try to redo some mistakes, salvage some broken life. And this morning I had one of the best breakfasts I've ever had, full of hope, passion, and excitement. Itadakimasu!

Lunch is really quite simple. Nothing fancy but a lot of preparation for the future. Time spend wisely and carefully. Food has been cooked at the perfect temperature, timing is really perfect. Nothing to complain about, nothing to be pumped about. Still, thank God for this moment of waiting. He gave us patience and peace. 

Dinner has most of the fanciest food. From appetizers to drinks, main dishes, and dessert. This has been the union of the best dishes in town. Perfect orchestrated. God ordained. As lovely as it is. The fuller our heart is. It's really amazing. Best meal I've ever had.

A LOVE LIFE

After 6 years of being a couple. We tie the knot last December 1, 2021, at Leanel's Garden in Tagaytay. Together with our family and closest friends. It was a day of a lifetime. We are glad to see the smiles on their faces. We are so happy that they are so happy about our relationship. We love hearing their stories, knowing that they learned something and got a really nice and unique experience, and even became inspired by the words they've heard. 

Above all of that. I thank God every day for giving me, Jasmin to be my partner throughout my life. I've been blessed with too much. She's so amazing and wonderful, one of a kind and she's really nice to me. She is always mindful of me and took care of me when I'm sick. 

She gets mad whenever I'm hardheaded and she always makes me wanna follow her. I could not ask for more. She is love, she is grace. She is God's gift to me.

Promises have been made. 

God is our witness. 

Our future is fun and bright.
