So, I just caught up with One Piece. I failed to finish the anime due to the terrible pacing but I caught up with the manga.
Again, the anime has terrible pacing - you'll be watching characters running for several minutes before they reached their destination. Well, the manga is pretty long but has an amazing pace. I wish I learned this sooner before watching 700 + episodes.
One piece contains the following arcs, all of which I enjoy in their unique way:
 |
East Blue Saga
This arc is nice and simple. It's an introduction to the crew.
|
 |
Arabasta Saga
This is where you can see a glimpse of how crazy the One Piece world is. We also have a strong villain that has a different type of Devil fruit. This is probably one of the first long arcs. The ending is really nice.

Sky Island Saga
The Straw Hats pirates' crew is not just on the sea. We journeyed with them up in the heavens, in the Sky Island. I really appreciate Oda in this arc, he portrayed really well how crazy the One Piece world is. I love the build-up and how the antagonist put doubts on our heroes when it comes to Sky Island and One Piece itself.

Water 7 Saga
This is one of the beautifully designed islands. One of the goose-bumping and emotional arcs. I really enjoy the crazy character in Sogeking and the mystery and development of Robin.

 |
Thriller Bark Saga
This arc should be a little lower in rating but since "Nothing Happened", it gets a bump.

 |
Summit War Saga
This feels like the Naruto Great Ninja War arc. As I was watching, I can't seem to be weirded out by the number of episodes ahead. This war seems like the end but it's not, this is the last arc before the timeskip. Stakes are high, really emotional on different levels, overall amazing.

Fish-Man Island Saga
Here we saw improvements from the crew. Love all the power-ups. The arc is nice but it's hard to rate this higher due to the better arcs on the list.
Rating: 6/10 |
 |
Dressrosa Saga
There's a tournament, and there are new reveals and alliances. Pretty nice arc.
Rating: 7/10 |
 |
Whole Cake Island Saga
The design is nice and bright. We have an overpowered enemy. There are so many things moving around and there are really nice pick ups and power-ups. Cool.

Wano Country Saga
I thought that this arc is pretty slow but when I start reading it thoroughly, I can't just put down the manga. There's so much happening, I'm loving the risks, all the trauma it all cause, the enemies, the twists and turns. Massive 10 for sure. Rating: 10/10 |
Final Saga - we are in this arc and it's just the start.
I enjoy anime and manga for sure. Since this is a pretty long watch, I recommend only watching the first few arcs, and when you feel like it's already dragging, switch to the manga until the end - I recommend switching back to the anime to fully enjoy the fight scenes.
Yes, the Strawhat crew journey is really good. One Piece is a good watch, but it's not perfect. There are bad pacing, and dragging chapters but once you get through it, it gets really better.
So, I'm already caught up with the big three and it's fantastic, totally worth it. I started with Naruto, then, watched several other animes, then Bleach and One Piece.
I'm a hardcore Naruto fan for sure. But after watching all of the big three, I believe One Piece is better. Don't get me wrong, Naruto is really good in its own way. One Piece is a lil bit better, then Naruto, then Bleach.
One Piece is an adventure. Don't rush it. Watch it at your own pace. Enjoy every moment, and cry when it gets really emotional. Be angry and clap back, laugh at their silliness, and learn as you go along. It's a really long and nice ride. Have a nice day.
